Full day · Sintra & Cascais

For a full day out of the city, we take you from the forested hills of Sintra to the Atlantic coast at Cascais. It is a long day and a beautiful one: eight hours with your own driver, at your own pace, with the freedom to stop wherever you like.

Sintra feels like another world. Mist drifts through the trees, and colourful palaces and castles sit on top of the hills. The tour can take in the highlights, such as the Pena Palace with its painted towers, the Quinta da Regaleira with its gardens and mysterious wells, and the Moorish Castle walls winding along the ridge. We shape the morning around what you most want to see.

From there we head to the coast. The road runs towards Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, where the cliffs meet the open Atlantic, and then on to Cascais, a fishing town turned seaside retreat with a lively waterfront, good restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere. There is time for lunch, a walk by the sea and a look at the dramatic rocks of the Boca do Inferno before the ride back to Lisbon.
